A woman is dead and two other people were injured after a driver allegedly under the influence of drugs or alcohol smashed into parked cars in Pacific Palisades early Saturday morning, sending them flying toward pedestrians on the oceanside rocks below the road.At about 12:45 a.m., a 21-year-old man who was driving under the influence was headed south on Pacific Coast Highway when he struck three parked cars on the shoulder next to the road, according to Officer Chavez of the Los Angeles Police Department.Of those three parked cars, two of them fell onto the rocks below, where three pedestrians were.A driver allegedly under the influence smashed into parked cars along PCH on April 8, 2023, sending them careening toward pedestrians on the oceanside rocks below. Former 49ers football star Aldon Smith was sentenced Friday to a year in jail for driving under the influence after he rear-ended a Recology truck in Redwood City in 2021 and allegedly offered the driver $1,000 not to alert police.Smith, the 49ers’ single-season sack record holder, will serve his time in San Mateo County jail, according to San Mateo County Superior Court records.The former pass rusher was arrested in December 2021 after the collision on an Interstate 280 off-ramp. A day care employee in Oxon Hill, Maryland, was arrested Saturday after police said she recorded herself abusing kids.Prince George’s County police said that they charged 23-year-old Kayla Greenwell with multiple counts of child abuse and assault.A video recorded Wednesday appeared to show Greenwell picking up, slamming and tripping kids at the Oxon Hill Center For Early Learning. Police verified that she recorded some of the alleged abuse on her phone during their preliminary investigation.The police department was sent videos of Greenwell by multiple people on Friday, including an unaired video from Fox5 News. FORT COLLINS, Colo. (KDVR) -- A man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash with another motorcycle in Fort Collins on Friday night.Fort Collins Police said around 11:41 p.m., officers were notified of the crash between two motorcycles in the 6200 block of South College Avenue. An adult male was found with serious injuries.The man was northbound on his motorcycle. Another motorcycle, a blue Yamaha, was also northbound when the two collided on their sides.Both motorcycles went down and slid for a distance. One person dead, two others hospitalized in Denver apartment complex fire The rider of the Yamaha left the scene on foot before police arrived and did not exchange information with the other rider.Police are looking for the rider of the Yamaha and are concerned they may also have serious injuries from the crash.The FCPD Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling team took over the investigation.Speed was being looked into as a factor of the crash.Latest news
